Το Αχαϊκό Ινστιτούτο εκπαίδευσης ενηλίκων, ΜΚΟ, δραστηριοποιείται στη Περιφέρεια Δυτικής Ελλάδας, ανοίγεται στην τοπική κοινωνία, προσφέροντας άτυπη μάθηση εκπαίδευση σε ενήλικες και νεαρούς πολίτες και συντελεί στην αναβάθμιση της ποιότητας ζωής των συμπολιτών μας δίνοντας τους ευκαιρίες επιμόρφωσης, προσωπικής ανάπτυξης και εξέλιξης. Προσφέρει μαθήματα ξένων γλωσσών, εργαστήρια δημιουργίας κοσμημάτων, σεμινάρια – εργαστήρια δημιουργίας παραδοσιακού σαπουνιού από ελαιόλαδο και γλυκερίνη, κατασκευής κεριού και διακόσμησης λαμπάδας και σεμινάρια ψυχολογίας αυτογνωσίας, στηριζόμενοι στην προσφορά των εκπαιδευτών σε εθελοντική βάση .
Επίσης εστιάζουμε στην συνεχή κατάρτιση – σεμινάρια νέων και συναντήσεις των νεαρών εθελοντών μας σε Ευρωπαϊκές χώρες, στα πλαίσια του Ευρωπαϊκού Προγράμματος Erasmus+KA1, Youth.

The profile of Achaia Adult Education Institute:
Our aim is:
- To promote the European dimension of lifelong learning through transnational cooperation.
- To increase youngsters’ and adults’ capacity to play an active role in the society and develop their intercultural awareness, being active European citizens.
- To promote innovation and improve accessibility and quality of Educational provision for young people and adults by means of European cooperation.
- To promote the idea of voluntarism in our community for our young people and in Europe.
- To develop cooperation, as this would lead to a better education and culture for the youth and adults.
- To plan, promote and implement innovating projects, courses and seminars for all citizens – the youth and adults- within a lasting program of a life-long learning, aiming at the promotion of Democracy, Peace, Solidarity and better Education.
We cooperate with Prefecture of Achaia, Municipality of Patras, the European Information Center Patras, Hellenic Open University, the Prefectural Training Centre of Achaia (NELE), the Directorate of Primary and Secondary Education of Achaia and the scientific center of Patras.
Our members are citizens- youngsters and adults- from all social background, 18-90 age, from the area of western Greece.
Our target groups are local community young people, young volunteers, senior citizens, adult learners, pension learners, women of all ages, immigrants, adults with special needs in basic education and qualifications.
As Patras is a city, northwest of Greece, with a lot of unemployed people, refugees, immigrants, senior citizens and pensioned women because of the crisis, it is obvious the need to offer them education ways, to motivate them and a positive approach to aging issues in order to increase solidarity between generations.
Our Institute is offering Education packages of non-formal learning to the citizens of Patras and youngsters:
- English, Russian, Spanish and Italian language courses and Greek language courses to immigrants, basically on a volunteer basis from our Educators and trainers.
- Craft courses like: Jewelry courses, creative painting, silk painting, Painting on T-shirts, craft workshops for creating soap and Wax, craft workshops with leather.
- Workshops on consulting, training language teachers and social workers on intercultural competences, courses on team work, Book Club, collaborative teaching methods, courses on CLIL Methodology in teaching English language and seminars on voluntarism.
We have also implemented European projects youth in Action and Erasmus+. We act as sending organization, being partners in youth exchanges, training courses in Europe, since 2011. We contribute to a better quality life of our co-citizens giving them, chances of education, personal development and evolution.
Our Organization has a long experience on projects working with youth and adults for 8 years, offering courses, seminars and workshops of non formal education to the local citizens of Patras in order to be active European citizens and trying to give European Dimension to our activities, courses and to our work. We try to give to the citizens meaning in life after pension, make them responsible, with their own voice and contributing to the evolution of their personality. We also offer to our young volunteers chances and opportunities, to develop themselves , obtaining many skills and competencies, participating in Erasmus + Youth project, youth exchanges or training courses.
We have implemented and organized many European projects as partners and coordinators, in the frame of the LLP project Grundtvig. We have hosted successfully study visits in our city and many European teachers and staff and youth, participating in project meetings, study visits, workshops, form many European countries, e.t.c.
We have created a large network of 40 volunteers in our City Patras, young from 15- 30 years old, who are very active and support our activities and in the implementing various projects or helping on cultural activities on a volunteer basis. Among our fields we offer to them are: theatre, painting , music, arts and crafts, psychology, human rights, social work, education and training, consulting and European projects. We are very experienced in working with young volunteers with theater plays and performances. We have implemented in Nafpaktos, Greece, a youth in Action project, initiatives, with 30 young people, presenting the play “fiddler on the roof” in English language(2010).
Our young volunteers have been trained and participated in the workshops we implemented during the frame of the European project Leonardo da Vinci TOI CIVET from 2011-2013. This project was about how to enhance and develop intercultural skills to participants and train the language teachers how to teach the immigrants in the simplest way so that to be understood. We have a long experience sending volunteers, participating in Youth Exchanges projects. We join every year successfully youth meetings, participating in Youth in Action projects and in Erasmus+ Youth, as sending organization in Klaffer Austria, in Sibiu, in Romania, Turkey, Italy, Cyprus, Estonia, and Spain offering creating chances and European added value for our youth members and volunteers. Our volunteers have participated in a number of Youth Exchanges and Training Courses concerning inclusion and especially inclusion of immigrants and refugees in our European community and respecting the cultural diversity, such as «Respect Changemakers» in San Benedetto del Tronto, Italy (07/2016), «The Colours of Inclusion» in Tallinn, Estonia (06/2016), «Supporting Proactive Youngsters for a Better Society» in Naples, Italy (08/2015), “Employouth” in Larnaca, Cyprus (07/2017).
We have got experience and international expertise working with European trainers and young people, with the topic of migration, social inclusion, art projects for 8 years. We provide trainers, language teachers, social workers in intercultural skills, competences and cultural awareness.
We have also implemented the KA1 Erasmus+ Youth Exchange “YouthEm: Empowering Youth Employability” in Greece, September 2017, the main activity of which was the art workshop (theatre, music, painting, IT) about the future jobs.
In addition our KA1 Erasmus+ Youth Exchange “Connecting Youth through Art” is implemented in Ancient Olympia in June 2018.
Finally, we have also experience from KA2 Erasmus+ Projects as we are partners in the project «VETIVER (VET Itineraries with a Variety of Open Educational Resources Enhanced by a Multilingual Repository)» coordinated by the SZÁMALK-Szalézi Szakgimnázium Partner from Hungary during 2016-2018.
